Ghat

Ghat is a prominent city located in South Western Libya. During primeval times, this city was a big terminal point for the Trans Saharan Trade course. This city was a monopoly for the Kel Ajjer Tuareg alliance in 1913. At that time, Ghat was a subjugation of Italian colonialists. Italian colonialists were able to maintain control for a long time and in order to defend themselves, Italians built a citadel. This citadel is still present in the city and is one of the best tourist destinations.

Nalut is one of the most astonishing metropolitan cities of Libya and is located at the distance of 300 km in the northeast region of Libya. Cyrene

Cyrene falls at the distance of 115km in the northeast region of Benghazi and is in close proximity to Al Bayda. This metropolis is supposed to be founded by a tribe of immigrants in seventh century who had come here from an island in The Algerian Sea. The metropolis gradually developed into a province recognized for its love of philosophy and science.  The most famous philosophers of this city are Aristippus, Carneader and Callimachus. This city also waged wars at two fronts, one was against Carthage and the other against Libyans. Both wars ended in squaring off and tranquility among cantankerous. In the next centuries, this metropolis was acknowledged in the reign of Ptolemais and then in the Roman Empire.

Wow an Namus Volcano

Wow an Namus is one of the striking spontaneous volcanic scenes of Libya. This volcanic cone is situated in the Southern area of Libya. The meaning of Wow an Namus is 'Oasis of Mosquitoes' and sometimes the meaning of the term is also the 'Crater of Mosquitoes'. Rock Art in The Akakus Mountains

Tadrart Akakus is one of the main arid regions of Western Libya and is also a significant portion of the Sahara. It is very close to an important Libyan city, Ghat, and the meaning of Tadrart is “Mountain”.  The incredible rock art of the Akakus makes this place a favorite tourist destination. The Akakus has a large variation of lands and all these landscapes are different colors and different shapes. Though this area is one of the most scorched regions of the Sahara, one can notice the presence of vegetation. This area became a significant part of the UNESCO World Heritage in the year 1985.
