Leptis Magna is one of the most prominent cities of Rome and the carcass of this city can be seen in Al Khums, Libya. This site is one of the most stupendous sites of Rome and this site is unharmed for various reasons. Leptis Magna was established by the Sidonians in a fine and productive realm. This city is one of the most significant cities of Tripoli that created Tripoli confederacy.

Leptis Magna resembles Carthage with all ruins like quays, waterways and inland defense. This city incorporates Seimitic populace which subsequently became the fraction of the Greek city, Neapolis. This fact is quite unfortunate that most of the significant parts of Leptis Magna were buried under the ground. One good thing about this city is that Leptis Magna was again re-established and the walls of this city were again erected. These modifications were done in order to save the city from the assaults of Berbers.

The duke of this city constructed public baths and various splendid buildings. Septimius Serverus was again restored and this site is completely dedicated to tourists across the world. According to chronological sources, Leptis Magna was a part of Rome and this city has become one of the most significant parts of Libya. The significance of Leptis Magna started falling for some time and it was all due to the disaster of the third century. This catastrophe was further accentuated by the corrupt practices of Romanus who was appointed as a Roman Governor at that time. Leptis Magna was captured by vandals during 439 and Gaiseric gave commands that the walls of the city should be devastated. The populace of the city had suffered terribly due to this and later on, the Berbers robbers backpacked from the city.

The seven Arch site of Leptis Magna is one of the most remarkable sites and the sports ground is also praiseworthy. The Nymphaeum and the Hydrianic Baths of the city are worth watching. The colonnaded roads and the Severan Forum produce stupendous natural scenes. The waterway that was developed in this city carried water to the Leptis and Hydrian baths of the city is and is best known for its water features. Leptis Magna is a preserved site that is also featured in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. A new team of connoisseur archeologists are doing research in this site for unearthing new information. In the year 1997, a famous investigation had raised several queries and all the queries are waiting for their replies.

If you are planning to pay a visit to Leptis Magna, you can reach it very easily and you can also hire a guide. Leptis Magna also has an astounding museum as well as a beautiful sea beach that will provide coolness during summers. One can easily notice the fact that the principal constructing material that was used in the development of this city was limestone. Another remarkable thing about the development of this city is that the marble was also imported from other countries.

Leptis Magna offers stupendous spontaneous scenes and visitors across the world come to enjoy the beauty of the city.

Jamahiriya Museum is one of the most prominent places in the city of Tripoli which is distinguished in all respects. This rare combination of new and old age makes this museum one of the most classic pieces that is admirable in all aspects.

This museum has 47 galleries and 4 floors which is a remarkable attribute of this museum. This museum can either be a rapid run-through or a pleasurable trip. One remarkable thing about this museum is that all the substances which are tagged in this museum bear the Arabic language.

The floor level of this museum displays a swift voyage through numerous periods. One can notice the chronological events from 300,000 years ago to young Gadhafi. This museum possesses beautiful rock sculptures and earthen wares up to 1000 years old and these sculptures belong to primitive time.

The battlefield of Tobruk is a war site that is located on Tobruk and this site is 140 km to the East of Ras Alteen. The chronology of Libya is fairly distinguished for diverse pre-historic records but the battle of Tobruk is one of the most significant records. The battlefield of Tobruk is best known for presenting the gallantry of warriors who fought for the sake of their country.

Brief Description about the War of Tobruk

The skirmish of Tobruk was actually a divergence between Italy and the Turks. One could not imagine the scene in which 200 Italian soldiers were standing in order to brawl against the 200 Turco-Arab volunteers. At that time, captain Mustafa was leading the Tobruk area and foretold the endangering collaboration of Italian forces. Captain Mustafa gave commands to Sheik Muberra for attacking in order to maintain the control over Italian forces.

Before the crack of dawn, the Turco-Arabian forces came close to Nadura hill and surrounded the hill. Due to all this, Italian soldiers were taken aback and they responded in a negative fashion. All the positions of Italian forces were confined within two hours. The Turco-Arabian forces started devastating the corroboration of Italian forces and this was really what worked in reversing the Italian forces. This war was not good for Sheik Muberra as he was killed in the war along with 10 other soldiers. The Italian forces were forced to withdraw and they took refuge to Tobruk after five years of fighting.

According to famous estimates, 200 Italian soldiers were killed and the whole scene of the war proved a steeping stone in encumbering the Italian forces from Tobruk. You can pay a visit to Tobruk in order to have a look at war cemeteries.

The cemeteries of the war

The famous cemeteries in Tobruk are Knightsbridge cemetery and the French cemetery. You can also go into the Commonwealth cemetery in order to have a view of the British, Australian and Canadian graves.

The ruins of the machinery of the wars are displayed in Tobruk city with solid dugouts and these dugouts are left-over by Italian forces.

Strategic Importance of Tobruk City

The port of Tobruk is distinguished for strategic relevance and the first convoy of the Italian marine forces led by Admiral Aubry. He commanded the whole troup and he landed in Tobruk city on October 3, 1911. The whole troup invaded the city and it was interesting to note that they did not face any problem from the opposite troup.

The forces of turkey and Libya were well arranged through an important personality and the name of this significant personality was Enver Bey.

So, it can be said that the battlefield of Tobruk city is quite distinguished for representing the scenes of wars. The battle of Tobruk represents one of the famous chronological events in the history of Libya. The tourists can plan to visit this place and they will feel as if they are viewing the war of Tobruk.
